BGC Brabant & Limburg Mini babyshow -3 month

Yesterday evening was the nestfeather show - young birds before the moult - of my local club BGC Brabant & Limburg. Only members could enter with a maximum of 10 birds per member. The judge was P. Van Zwol and he commented on almost every bird in each class explaining weaknesses and features. You learn a lot as a beginner.

Amazingly I won best beginner bird! To be fare it was a close finish with a grey.
The best beginner bird was the Australian yellowface cinnamon you can see in the previous post. The A. yellowface albino that's also in that picture won best ino bird (beginners).

What I'm really pleased about is that I did well overall:
  • Class 1: (grey) green - 1st and 3rd place
  • Class 2: grey + blue - 4th place
  • Class 3: cinnamon + opaline - 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 7th place
  • Class 4: spangle + pied - 8th place
  • Class 5: ino - 1st place
  • Class 6: rares - 5th place

The judges comment was that he was very pleased about the quality of the winners of the first 4 classes in the beginners section. He also commented on the excellent mask of my light green class winner. I'm very pleased with that since I've been working on the mask for the second year now.
